the standard position

In this short tutorial, I want to show you how to hold your guitar correctly.

Before we start to learn our first chords to play the guitar, we have to hold it correctly. Holding the guitar properly does not only influence your whole picking and strumming techniques but is also very important to prevent medical problems with your back in the future, after several years of playing the guitar. We start with the right sitting position and the according angles of the guitar and your hands. But for “coolness” and convenience reasons, we will talk about a few relaxed positions for everyday and outdoor usage at the end of the article too.

New tablatures in development

At the weekend, I was working on some new tablatures for our next sessions and for publishing on this website. They are not completed yet, but I decided to share a short preview for some feedback.

Like all the other tablatures on duochord, it is a guitar duo for two acoustic guitars. It is based on a pattern Fabian and I developed about two years ago. The original pattern will be used in the intro (which is not part of the sample) but the following sample already contains a variation of it. It is still a draft and there will be some changes, especially in the top part. But I hope you like it so far.

First-Classic – Tablature

October 11, 2014

This tablature is the first classical acoustic guitar duo on duochords. I wrote it down yesterday and it is completely made-up without being based on any original piece.

DSCN4229It was my first try writing a piece of classical music ever, but i am quite happy with it. At the moment it is still a bit monotonous, but this is one of the common ways to start a classical piece. When i wrote this tablature, i already came up with possible continuations but i prefered to publish it as it is at the moment. First of all i did this to fill gap in the classical tablature section of duochords. But maybe i will continue this piece in the future.
