About Dorian Glagla

I am studying Systems Engineering at the university of Essen-Germany. I've been playing guitar for about 16 years. I visited a classical music school in Düsseldorf-Germany the first eleven years. Since 2009 I focussed on practicing modern music by mylself but i still like to play classical pieces too (Tarrega, Albeniz et al).

Ambient chillout (part 1) – Tablature

October 7, 2014

During the recent weeks, I found some nice ambient radio stations and enjoyed listening to this kind of calm and not distracting music. Because of the bad weather here in Essen I just picked up my guitar and wrote down a slow and easy duo tablature for two guitars. It is not very long, but i think it is more than just a snippet. I will continue this tablature with further parts in the future, but this part will remain as it is.

Here is how it sounds when both guitars play together:

Both guitars are very easy to play. The first one contains two barré chords, so it might be a bit more exhausting. To provide you some assistance while practicing this tablature, I recorded both guitars separately, so that you can practise the other part respectively.

Chord Finder

our new chord finder

Tonight is the last night before Fabian (the second author of this website) will see this website the first time. I was debugging the website the whole day. Especially the representation of the tablatures on mobile devices has made the adjustments difficult for me. Nevertheless, I think the website is running as expected on all devices now.

I added a chord finder as a nice extension into the sidebar, which allows yous to select any guitar chord you want to play and it then shows the according tablature. I think this feature will improve the usability of the website, especially when used while practicing our latest chord sheets ;o) I hope you enjoy this feature as much as I do already.

Balkan Nights Snippet

September 30, 2014

This is a simple draft of tablatures I wrote down inspired by the song Balkan Nights by Amir Beso on youtube (you find the youtube video at the bottom of this post). The first guitar plays a really simple pattern nearly the whole song and is therefore suitable for beginners. Maybe I will expand this part in future versions and make it a bit more challenging. The whole piece is still a draft and there is a lot missing. There is still some work to do, but I look forward to complete and optimize this tablature for two acoustic guitars.

Site goes online

September 29, 2014

This homepage will be a project of Fabian Weißler and me, Dorian Glagla. We enjoy playing our acoustic guitars together and we like to discover new songs. During our last guitar sessions, we often talked about setting up a website, to collect our favourite tabs and chords on it.

We like to play a lot of well known songs like “Nothing else matters” by Metallica. But we also play classical pieces or songs of not so well-known artists. The most important thing for us is to play together with a rapid learning-success. We are not interested in struggling towards unreadable tablatures or studying the sheet music during our sessions. While searching the web, we found a few archives, but not a single one contained simple duos only. Because of that, we decided to collect all the easy-to-play-tablatures and chords together with those written down by ourselves. We want to share our hobby with all of you by making this page public and offering you all our favourite tabs and chords for free.

But first of all, this website will be a birthday-present for Fabian W. Therefore I registered the domain yesterday and set up the logo-design and the homepage design. Next Thursday we will have our next guitar-session and maybe we will post our first tabs. Tomorrow and on Wednesday I will keep going on with testing and debugging the website.

I already hope that this website will please every visitor, but in particular Fabian. So – once again happy birthday Fabian ;o)
